Beth Benavidez

My name is Beth Benavidez and I am 33 years old.  I was born in Dickinson Texas but quickly moved to the south suburbs of Chicago with my family.  I moved to Austin in 1997 and married my husband Richard in 2000. We quickly started our family with our first son born in 2001. Christopher is 8 years old and a pre-k graduate of Child's Way. He is now a  3rd grader at Baranoff Elementary.  We also have a 4 year old son, Davis, who is here at Child's Way in Ms. Laura and Ms. Amy's class.

I have been working here since December 2008 as a substitute teacher/floater and occassionaly assissted the young children with arts & crafts, science experiments and cooking.  Since then, I have become a lead teacher and worked during the summer camps. I'm excited to be starting the new year off as the Young 2's teacher.  Also, this school year I will be beginning a new chapter to my life and will return to ACC on a Teacher Trac scholarship. This program will prepare me to receive my Child Development Associate Credentials.  It will consist of three semesters at ACC focusing on physical, cognitive, creative, and communication  as well as child growth and development.
